THREE teenagers have been arrested after a boy was seriously injured in a Southampton crash.

Emergency services rushed to Hill Lane at 5.18pm on Monday at the junction with Warwick Road, following a report of a collision involving a Suzuki motorcycle and a VW Golf.

A 14-year-old boy, who was a pillion passenger on the bike, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

The road was closed while police dealt with the incident.

Three teenagers, all from Southampton, were arrested and remain in police custody.

Police are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision.

They are asking members of the public to share dash cam, CCTV or ring doorbell footage, as well as help identify the people involved.

Officers are also asking if people saw a moped at the scene.

Acting Chief Inspector Hayley O’Grady from the Southampton Neighbourhoods Policing Team said: “We realise this collision may cause concern in the community.

“I would like to reassure you that tackling motorcycle related crime remains one of our priorities in Southampton and we continue to conduct targeted operations alongside the work our officers do day in, day out to tackle the issue.

“The investigation remains at an early stage, and we would appreciate if you could avoid speculating about the incident on social media while we carry out our enquiries.”
