POLICE remain at the scene of a cannabis factory discovered in a former pub.

Officers are at the Engineers Arms in Northam Road after finding a “large quantity” of cannabis plants in the building on Monday.

Police are working to dismantle the infrastructure inside and seize the plants.

The discovery was made after police attended the scene to investigate a hit-and-run in the early hours.

A crash between a silver Volkswagen CC and a man in his 40s left the man with facial injuries and a serious leg injury.

A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to burgle.

The force is now appealing for people with information or footage to come forward by calling 101 or visiting their website, quoting 44220287694.

Information can also be reported anonymously via the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.

DS Nicola Rose previously said: "This was a serious collision which could have a life-changing impact on the injured man, and we need anyone who may have seen what happened to come forward."
