A JUDGE was today due to sum up in the trial of four men accused of the murder of Southampton teenager Lewis Singleton.
Defence barristers were expected to finish their closing speeches at Winchester Crown Court this afternoon and it is expected that jurors will retire to consider a verdict early next week. Rikki Johnson, Sercan Calik and two youths, who cannot be named for legal reasons, all deny murdering Lewis in a gang attack last March 31.
They also deny a second charge of violent disorder.
Summing up in his closing speech yesterday, prosecutor Tim Mousley QC told jurors: "Lewis did absolutely nothing wrong that night. He was in the truest sense of the phrase a completely innocent victim. He had no problem with any of his attackers."
Johnson, 19, of Honeysuckle Road, Bassett, Calik, 19, of Burgess Road, Bassett and two youths aged 16 and 17 deny murder and violent disorder. A fifth gang member was never charged.
