AN ANNUAL survey has revealed the best and worst GP surgeries across Southampton.
The ratings from the GP Patient Survey 2022 are based on scores given by patients that rely on their services.
The data has revealed what people really think about all aspects of the local practices including how easy it is to get through on the phone, if needs were met, and the overall experience.
The best GP surgery in Southampton was found to be Lordshill Health Centre in Lordshill, which scored the highest out of 25 services.
A total of 94 per cent of patients here said they had a good overall experience.
Across the board, 86 per cent said it was easy to get through on the phone, 95 per cent agreed that receptionists were helpful and 100 per cent of patients said they had trust and confidence in the healthcare professionals.
The worst-rated GP surgery in Southampton was Living Well Partnership in Woolston.
Only 53 per cent of patients said they had a good overall experience.
Here is a round-up of some of the results of the 2022 patient survey for GPs in Southampton:
Easy to get through on the phone
Patients at University Health Service, located in the University of Southampton Highfield Campus, said this practice was the easiest to get through to on the phone.
A total of 92 per cent of patients agreed.
This was followed by Cheviot Road Surgery, Hill Lane Surgery, and Lordshill Health Centre.
Southampton residents found that Woolston Lodge Surgery was the worst for picking up calls with only 64 per cent agreeing.
Helpful receptionists
The receptionists at Burgess Road Surgery in Bassett were found to be the most helpful with 95 per cent of patients agreeing.
Burgess Road was followed by Highfield Health, Lordshill Health Centre and Chevoit Road Surgery.
The lowest rated surgery for helpful receptionists was Old Fire Station Surgery on Portsmouth Road in Woolston at 65 per cent.
Needs met at last appointment
Highfield Health on Highfield Road in Portswood was where patients' needs were met most.
A total of 99 per cent of patients said their needs were met at appointments here.
This was followed by The Shirley Health Partnership, Lordshill Health Centre and St Peter's Surgery.
Brook House Surgery on Oakley in Millbrook was where patients felt their needs were met the least at 79 per cent.
Confidence and trust in healthcare professionals
Lordshill Health Centre is the surgery where patients have the most confidence and trust in their healthcare professionals.
A total of 100 per cent of patients agreed.
This was followed by University Health Service, Highfield Health, and The Shirley Health Partnership.
The surgery where patients have the least trust and confidence was Brook House Surgery at 80 per cent.
GP listened to me
Lordshill Health Centre was the place people felt GPs listened to them the most.
A total of 98 per cent said they felt listened to by their GP.
This was followed by Hill Lane Surgery, the Shirley Health Partnership, and St Peter's Surgery.
The surgery where patients feel least listened to was Brook House Surgery at 72 per cent.
Good experience making an appointment
University Health Service was the best practice for making an appointment with 86 per cent of patients agreeing.
This was followed by Cheviot Road Surgery, Lordshill Health Centre, and St Peter's Surgery.
The worst GP practice for making an appointment was Living Well Partnership at just seven per cent.
