A WATER leak described as "like the rivers of Babylon" has disrupted a quiet street of pensioners in West End.
Susan Vaughan-Daltry, 65, and Trevor Daltry, 68, say the leak started on Barnsland at 7am yesterday morning.
Southern Water engineers have since visited the scene to investigate the issue.

Trevor has phoned the water company three times since yesterday morning, asking if somebody is going to come out to fix the issue.
For more than 24 hours, he was told that the company did not know when the leak would be fixed.
Susan described the leak as "like the rivers of Babylon".
It has been causing low water pressure in their home and streaming down the streets in the area.
The couple have lived there for seven years, and say Barnsland is a street of pensioners.
With the upcoming hosepipe ban, the retired couple are concerned that they will be unable to water their plants, which they are growing "to save some pennies".
Trevor said: "There's a drought. We are paying for a service and they are going to give us a hosepipe ban. Something is wrong in the system."
Susan added: "They say the reservoirs are low but they are not fixing water that is running down the street. It is just concerning. You have kids playing in it and we don't know if it is just water or whether there is stuff in it.
"Especially with the cost of living so high. The cost of everything is going up. It is just ridiculous. And with the hosepipe ban, they want us to abide by their rules, which is unjust."
The incident comes just days before a hosepipe ban is due to be introduced in Hampshire.
The restrictions on water use will come into force next Friday.
