A SOUTHAMPTON woman who carried out a racist attack on police has avoided jail.
Angela Freda McGlone appeared in court following an incident at Southampton General Hospital on May 29.
The 51-year-old assaulted a police constable and the court found the offence to be racially aggravated.
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, she admitted one charge of assaulting an emergency worker by beating.
McGlone, of Portswood Avenue, Southampton, was committed to prison for 16 weeks suspended for 12 months and was ordered to pay compensation of £50.
