A GROUP of travellers who set up home on a Southampton recreational site have been told to leave.
Yesterday, the group pitched up on Five Acres Recreation Ground on Redbridge Lane in Millbrook at around 7am.
Around 15 caravans were spotted on the site and it is believed the group had moved after spending a week at Millbrook Recreation Ground on Third Avenue.
Southampton City Council's Community Safety Team have since carried out welfare checks and the occupants have been verbally asked to leave the site.
A spokesperson said: "A report has been submitted to a senior council manager with recommendations on how the site should be dealt with.
"Please report any anti-social behaviour and/or criminality to the police on 101 or their web-based reporting facility."
