A PEDESTRIAN has suffered serious injuries following a crash with a vehicle.
Police have closed the A27 Southampton Road in both directions following a serious incident this morning.
Officers were called to the road at 11.16am to a report of a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian outside The Rapids.
The pedestrian has suffered serious injuries.
The road is closed in both directions between the A3057 roundabout to the A3090 roundabout. in Romsey.
Traffic is coping and motorists have been urged to avoid the route.
There is still access to The Rapids, but by foot only.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said: "We were called at 11.16am to a report of a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian on Southampton Road, Romsey.
"Officers have closed the road while emergency services attend. The pedestrian has suffered serious injuries."
