A SOUTHAMPTON pub has been forced to shut following a vandalism spree.
A police investigation has been launched following reports of criminal damage at The Kingsland Tavern in St Mary’s Road.
Reports include paint being thrown at the building, windows being smashed, a marquee being slashed and wires being cut to CCTV cameras.
It is understood the incidents happened on Wednesday and Thursday this week.
Anyone with information is now being encouraged to contact police by calling 101 or online.

Inspector Al Dineley said: “We are aware of ongoing issues with antisocial behaviour and criminal damage at the premises and have spoken to staff with safeguarding advice.
“We have also made sure the various teams that police Southampton are aware of the incidents and we have increased patrols around the venue, which will take place day and night.
“What has happened is both concerning and completely unacceptable. We will continue to support the pub and conduct enquiries to identify those involved.”
