AFTER this year’s record-breaking weekend, the organisers of Victorious Festival have announced next year’s event will be even bigger.

In 2023, the south coast festival will see all stages open for three full days, meaning Friday will now also include the second Castle stage, the Kids Arena, Fringe Fields, Comedy and the Acoustic Arena, the same as festival-goers currently enjoy on the Saturday and Sunday.

Previously the first day on Southsea Common has only included acts on the main stage, which this year saw headline sets from Stereophonics, Paolo Nutini and Sam Fender across the weekend.

Victorious organisers said in an announcement following a successful 2022: "We’re excited to announce Victorious will now be three full days!”

Around 70,000 people attended this year's festival on Sunday with 65,000 music lovers enjoying the festival the day before.

Victorious 2022 saw Bastille, Ann Marie, Embrace, Suede, Kula Shaker, The Reytons, The Libertines, Sophie Ellis Bextor, and The K’s take to the stage alongside local acts Crystal Tides, Jerry Williams, Devin Jade and Harvey Jay Dodgson.

Daily Echo:

The greatest names and some of music’s most exciting new acts rocked the festival at the weekend.

And organisers confirmed that it was the biggest event so far in the festival’s nine-year history with Sunday tickets selling out.

The unique location of Victorious was highlighted on Saturday when aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales sailed past in full view, heading for exercises on the USA Eastern Seaboard, during a set by The Sugababes.

Daily Echo:

Fans on music forums and social media are already speculating about the acts they would like to appear next year with names such as Noel Gallagher’s High-Flying Birds, Liam Gallagher, Jamie T, Jake Bugg, Foals, Kasabian and Yorkshire band The Sherlocks, who made their main stage debut at Reading and Leeds this weekend, all being tipped for a 2023 set.

The 2023 event will once again run over the bank holiday weekend, from August 25 to 27.

Early-bird daily and weekend tickets, including off-site camping and car parking options, are on sale on the festival website victoriousfestival.co.uk
