TWO sisters pedalled their way from Cornwall to Scotland to raise funds for charity.
This month, Wendy Clark and Kay Kvedaras cycled from Land's End to John O'Groats for Care and Relief for the Young (CRY) a charity dedicated to empowering youth in developing countries.
It comes as the organisation celebrated its 30th anniversary this year, and the sisters hope to raise £3,000 for charity.
Wendy, from the West End, has worked with Cry since 2004 as a financial manager.
She said raising money for the charity that she has worked with for so long will be "amazing".
Speaking to the Echo about their challenge, the 57-year-old said: "Cry is a children's charity and it has helped so many children in poor countries and places where the need is so great.
"We are working with more than 30 countries such as Afghanistan, Ukraine, and Myanmar on different projects, and the charity is growing every day.
"I have worked with the charity for almost 18 years and absolutely love being part of it."
She and her 61-year-old sister, Kay, embarked on their venture on Saturday, September 10 and completed it on Sunday, September 18.
It took them nine days to ride an average of 110 miles a day.
The grandmother-of-seven added: "It was incredibly hard going at times and we did cry on a few occasions, but we are very pleased with ourselves that we made it to the end.
"The first six days we had no rain, but then the last three days in Scotland it rained and got quite a lot colder."
The duo also successfully raised £5,000 for CRY.
On their fundraiser, Kay from South London said: "I know it's a big challenge, but I know there is a lot of support from everyone.
"The money we are raising is going to a very good cause, and that thought spurred us on."
