TWELVE bikes were stolen in the New Forest over the course of a month.
Three of these were taken from the Ashurst campsite, Lyndhurst Road, at the beginning of August.
These bikes were the first to be stolen from there in more than six weeks, say the neighbourhood policing team.
Hampshire police say this was down to the hard work of the team as well as staff at the campsite and other Forest campsites.
Other bikes were stolen from the front garden of a house in Ashurst, outside the Lyndhurst Fire station, and from pub gardens in Brockenhurst and Emery Down.
Police warn that the holiday season is not over yet, so holidayers in the New Forest should not leave bikes unattended.
If you have to leave the bike, take a wheel or the saddle (or both).
The team also warns that thieves will cut off locks in broad daylight, so look after them.
