A NUMBER of stolen motorbikes were recovered by police after they were abandoned in woodland.

Four motorbikes were found by officers in woods near Lowry Gardens in Sholing today.

Two of the bikes had registered owners in Fareham and Bishopstoke.

Unfortunately, one of the recovered bikes had been stripped apart by the thief.

No arrests have been made in light of the discovery.

The owners of the bikes have been informed and police are conducting enquiries into who may have been riding them.

A spokesperson from Southampton police said: “If you know of anyone involved or have any information, please contact us via 101 quoting reference 44220355780.”
