A WOMAN who was dragged to the ground by a man has suffered injuries to her head.

Police are investigating an assault in Eastleigh last night.

A woman in her 40s was followed by a man along Underwood Road and Alan Drayton Way on Sunday, September 4, at about 9pm.

The man followed her until she reached an unlit area near Lynx Close.

He then assaulted the woman by dragging her to the ground, causing minor injuries to her head.

The woman was able to flee the scene, and police have said it is likely that the man will have some injuries to his face from the victim defending herself.

The man is described as white, aged in his early 30s, 6'2" tall and with brown hair.

A spokesperson from Hampshire police said: "Following initial investigations we are now appealing for any witnesses who could help our enquiries.

"We have a description of a man we would like to speak to regarding this incident.

"If anyone saw this incident or this man, or recognises his description, please call 101 quoting reference number 44220361306."
