FOUR people have been given cash in recognition of their efforts in saving a woman after her husband attempted to drown her in a bog.
The group leapt into action after Awaas Deader took his wife to a secluded spot after dark along Exbury Road, Beaulieu, and attacked her - leaving her with a fractured jaw and eye socket.
Deader, 27, then began trying to drown her in a muddy bog near the road.
He was handed an indefinite hospital order last month after he was found guilty at trial of the attempted murder of his wife.
Four people witnessed the incident and Judge Christopher Parker QC later said they spent nearly an hour trying to help her.
Kayleigh Arney and Danielle Hutley were awarded £750, whilst Chelsea Turner and Joshua McCullie were given £450 each.

More praise has been heaped on the four who saved her life.
Samantha Lawrence, CPS Wessex Senior Crown Prosecutor, said: “Awaas Deader admitted attacking the woman involved in this traumatic incident, but tried to claim the defence of insanity as a legal excuse for his actions.
“The CPS relied on eye-witness accounts and medical evidence to prove to the jury that he was indeed fully responsible for attempted murder.
“I would like to thank the brave members of the public for stopping, calling the emergency services, and for staying with the woman to make sure she was safe.
“There is no doubt that their intervention saved her life.”
The judge announced the reward for the four at Deader's sentencing hearing last month.
Prosecutor Simon Foster also paid tribute to those who helped.
Deader, formerly of Blenheim Gardens, Southampton, was arrested and charged three days later with attempted murder.
His victim was taken to Southampton General Hospital with serious injuries after the attack.
She has since been left with amnesia but suffered no lasting injuries, the court heard.
Dr Rob Cornish said that Deader requires treatment for his own and others’ safety after being diagnosed with schizophrenia following a previous attempt to take his own life.
