A STUDENT housing provider has launched a sustainable initiative to help tackle fashion waste.
Pre-loved goods will get a second lease on life at Vita Student's Swap Shop.
Every year, the average person in the UK throws away 400kg of waste.
The new shop will encourage students to donate their old loved items which they no longer use.
The housing agency wants to help students make better choices to protect the environment and save money.
Max Bielby, chief operating officer at Vita Student, said: "The Vita Student Swap Shop is a small, simple step that our students can take to live in a more sustainable way, giving previously loved items with plenty of life in them a new beginning."
The Vita Student Swap Shop is currently only open to Vita Student residents.
Donations can be dropped off at Richmond House on Terminus Terrace or Portswood House on Portswood Road in Southampton.
