THE DAY of the Queen's funeral will be a bank holiday, the King has confirmed.
Speaking during an Accession Council ceremony, Penny Mordaunt, the Lord President of the Council, shared the news.
She said a proclamation will appoint the day of the Queen's funeral as a bank holiday across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
King Charles III has now signed it - approving the bank holiday.

The date of her funeral has not been announced yet.
King Charles addressed the council earlier this morning and started by paying tribute to his late mother.
He said: "I know how deeply you, the entire nation, and I think I may say the whole world, sympathise with me in the irreparable loss we all suffered.
"It is the greatest consolation to me to know of the sympathy expressed by so many to my sister and brothers, and that such overwhelming affection and support should be extended to our whole family."
