THE people of Eastleigh have paid tribute to Her Majesty the Queen with a wreath laying ceremony today.
After the sad passing of Her Majesty, organisations and dignitaries gathered at noon today to pay their respects.
Taking place at the Bandstand at Leigh Road Recreation Ground, the event saw many attend including the Mayor of Eastleigh, Cllr Adam Manning and MP, Paul Holmes.
Deputy Lieutenant, Hugo Cubitt and the Chief Executive of Eastleigh Borough Council, James Strachan also attended before going to the Point to sign the book of condolence.

It comes ahead of the proclamation of King Charles III in the town tomorrow by the mayor which members of the public are welcome to attend.
The Mayor, Cllr Manning said: "On behalf of the people of Eastleigh Borough and its Council, I would like to express our sadness at the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
"We send our deepest condolences to the Royal Family and wish them strength during this sad period.
"Her Majesty visited the Borough on several occasions during her reign and was welcomed to the Eastleigh Civic Offices, accompanied by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, in 1966. She will be remembered fondly by all who met her.

"This summer, roads were closed across the Borough to allow for street parties and other celebratory events to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee.
"Flags are being flown at half-mast in the Leigh Road Recreation Ground".
A book of condolence has also been opened at The Point theatre and can be signed between 9am and 5pm each day.
It will be closed on the day of the state funeral but will re-open the following day.
Books of condolence are also available at parish council offices around the Borough.
