In the letter, headteacher Jason Ashley said: "We have spoken to the police and we have passed on all of the information that we have to them, but we also wanted to inform our parents to ensure that we keep our students as safe as possible.

"Therefore, as a general reminder, please ensure you know where your children are and they should, as far as possible, be with friends. Any concerns, please call 101 to report any issues or 999 in an emergency."

Hampshire police has been contacted for more information.
