EMERGENCY services rushed to Northam Bridge after a person was spotted in the water.
HM Coastguard received reports of a person in the water near the bridge, which runs across the River Itchen.
Crews raced to the scene this afternoon, September 14, and were assisted by Hamble Lifeboat, the coastguard helicopter, police, and Hill Head Coastguard Rescue Team.
Upon searching the area no one was found.

A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said: "We were called at 11.51am by a member of the public reporting what they believed to be a person in the water near the Northam Bridge.
"Police attended along with partners including SCAS, the Harbourmaster and the Coastguard while searches were conducted in the area, however no such person was found."
