THERE are 47 wildlife trusts in the UK with 725,000 members, making it the largest British voluntary organisation dedicated to conserving the country's habitats and species. Southampton's Chris Packham is vice-president of the charity, and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight trust has 27,000 members.
