A MAN was taken to hospital yesterday after an industrial accident at Fawley refinery.
The employee, aged about 40, suffered head and rib injuries in an incident involving a forklift truck.
A police spokesman said: "The injured man was conscious and breathing after the accident but in a lot of pain."
The casualty was taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
The scene of the incident was cordoned off pending an investigation.
A Fawley spokesman confirmed that an inquiry into the accident would be launched.
