THEY may not be married, but Theo Walcott and his girlfriend Mel Slade are already a Mr and Mrs.
Former Saints star Theo and Southampton girl Mel have been filmed for a new series of the classic gameshow Mr & Mrs - a TV favourite in the 1970s and 1980s.
ITV is bringing back the show, which puts celebrity couples in the spotlight.
In it heyday, Mr & Mrs was hosted by Derek Batey with ordinary couples answering questions about each other. It returned briefly in the late 1990s presented by Julian Clary. The new series is hosted by This Morning stars Phillip Schofield and Fern Britton.
Theo and Mel, both 19, quizzed each other about their relationship for the new series final, which will be aired next month.
Viewers will see Theo larking about by poking his tongue out at Mel after she answers a question about him wrongly.
Mel's father, John Slade, a Southampton city councillor and former mayor, told the Daily Echo: "Mel and Theo had a great time on the show, they thoroughly enjoyed themselves and would love to have more opportunities for television appearances.
"Unfortunately, Mel can't tell us what the result of the show was, as it has not been broadcast yet."
Cllr Slade, who lives in Bitterne Park, said Mel is still a Southampton girl at heart and spends a lot of time in the city.
"She is still very much a local lass and, despite studying in London, spends quite a lot of time here," he said.
Having taken a gap year last year, Mel is now training to be a physiotherapist at St George's University Hospital in London.
Theo now plays for Premiership side Arsenal, and famously made the England squad for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
The couple met when she worked at Claire's Accessories in WestQuay shopping centre while Theo was playing for Saints.
