GREEN campaigners took to the streets of Southampton and Winchester to protest against pollution by aircraft.
Friends of the Earth activities were looking for support for its attempts to toughen the world's first climate change law.
The Government wants to set legally binding targets for carbon emissions but FoE says the bill is too weak because its omits the pollution from the aviation industry.
Volunteers wore Gordon Brown face masks as they handed out leaflets at the Bargate in Southampton and Winchester High Street on Saturday.
Winchester Friends of the Earth branch treasurer Dave Walker-Nix said the public was more aware than ever of their influence on the climate.
"There is a lot more public perception about climate change and public awareness about how their lifestyle affects the climate," he added.
