POLICE have issued a safety warning after prescription medication was stolen in a burglary at a Gosport pharmacy.
A pot containing about 200 x 5mg Nitrazepam prescription tablets, used for sleep insomnia, was stolen from the Unicare Pharmacy in Rowner Road.
The large, white tablets are scored in the middle and marked with a number five.
Detective Constable David Sheppard, who is investigating the incident, said: "We would advise anyone who may be offered this medication not to accept it, because it could be harmful if taken by someone who is not prescribed it."
Anyone that does come into contact with the medication is asked to contact Gosport CID on 0845 045 45 45 or to contact the anonymous Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
- A 35-year-old man from Gosport has been arrested on suspicion of burglary.
