GLAMOROUS students from across the country will descend on Southampton this weekend for a beauty pageant to highlight the best of Afro-Caribbean culture in the UK.
For the third year running, the city will host Miss ACS UK to celebrate the culture and encourage people from an Afro-Caribbean background to become ambassadors for their community.
Organiser Jacqueline Matovu first came up with the event when she was studying in Southampton and decided to hold the pageant in the city because of its cultural diversity.
"It is a great night that not only celebrates the culture but includes a lot of live music and dancing too.
"The night will also be raising money for charities in Africa," she said.
