TWO founders of a Hampshire marketing agency are helping to inspire the next generation of young entrepreneurs.
Josh Mitchell and Chris Stones launched Southampton-based Mitchell and Stones in 2018, since when the company has quadrupled its turnover.
The pair hosted a sales and marketing workshop for students taking part in the University of Southampton's Foundership Scheme.
The students are in the process of founding and growing their own businesses as well as studying towards their degrees.
Josh and Chris shared their experiences of leaving university and becoming founders themselves, aged just 23 and 26.
Josh said: "We believe that hearing about first-hand experience is very valuable when starting up your own business.
"One of the best ways to succeed in business is to learn from other people, not only from their successes but also from their mistakes.
"We hope that by sharing the ones we made these students can avoid doing so and go on to have thriving businesses.
"I’m really pleased to have been asked to come along to deliver this session and truly hope it makes a difference to the students."
Lloyd Attrill, the university’s student enterprise specialist practitioner, added: "I have personally known Josh and Chris for many years and watched their business go from strength to strength.
"When I was constructing the schedule and deciding upon the content and topics we wanted across the 12-week scheme I was determined to find a business who could deliver a session on practical sales and marketing tips.
"A big factor in selecting Mitchell and Stones was their relatability and experience as student founders alongside their extensive knowledge of both subject areas.
"Josh and Chris delivered a fantastic session to our foundership cohort on practical sales and marketing.
"The session was extremely valuable, and the student founders learned a lot from the experiences of both speakers.
"The sessions were packed full of content and the team at Mitchell and Stones even continued supporting the students after the session."
