POLICE in Hampshire have issued a warning to those with drones ahead of the Queen's funeral next week.

Hampshire Constabulary is asking all drone users to check restrictions on where and how they can use their devices.

It comes as many people are expected to try and capture ceremonial events taking place across the county over the coming days.

Vowing to seize any equipment and investigate any law-breaking, the force said it wants to remind people of the legal parameters around drones.

In a social media post, police said: "As a reminder, it is the responsibility of the drone owner to fly their drone safely and within the law.

"Our officers have the capability to detect unlawful drone use, to locate pilots and the power to seize equipment, and will seek to investigate and take enforcement action against anyone found to be breaking the law.

"More information on this guidance can be found in the Drone and Model Aircraft Code on the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) website - https://orlo.uk/jqopY"
