A FUNDRAISING event has been set up in Eastleigh to help raise cash for families affected by floods in Pakistan.
Residents are invited to take part in a badminton tournament to help raise money for those who have lost their homes and possessions.
The monsoon season in the country brought heavier rains than normal, submerging more than a third of the country.
According to the United Nations, more than 33 million people have been affected.
To help those in need, the tournament will be taking place next month at Places Leisure Eastleigh off Passfield Avenue.
Event organiser, Saima Faizi, told the Daily Echo: "We are hoping to raise money for families in Pakistan.
"All schools, hospitals, shops and more are closed right now, and the floods have caused major infrastructural damage.
"This is a huge humanitarian crisis and money you donate will really these families.
"Please come and join us to play while raising funds for this noble cause."
The tournament will take place on Saturday, October 15 and will begin at 10.30am.
While participants are encouraged to bring their own rackets, some spare equipment will be available to use.
The entry fee for this event is £15 and all proceeds will go towards flood relief.
