A man is due to appear in court today following a dramatic siege at a house in Hampshire.
The 36-year-old is due to appear before magistrates following the incident in Totton.
Robert Leeming, of Parkside, has been charged with causing actual bodily harm to his 34-year-old, Joanne Wyatt and detained in custody until his court appearance.
He will appear before New Forest magistrates sitting in Lyndhurst.
The allegation follows an incident in which she suffered a suspected broken nose.
Police - some wearing helmets and carrying protective shields - had surrounded a flat in the town following reports that a man inside was threatening to kill himself.
A specially trained negotiator was brought to the scene while ambulance teams and officers from the police dog unit were put on alert.
The drama on Saturday ended about six hours later when a 36-year-old surrendered to police and was led away to a waiting police van for questioning at Lyndhurst police station.
