A TEMPORARY sub postmaster has appeared in court charged with stealing £187,000 from a Hampshire post office.
William Giles, 57, of Stubbington Lane, Fareham, appeared before New Forest magistrates in Lyndhurst and will now appear at Southampton Crown Court in June. He is accused of stealing the money from a post office in Sway where he was working.
The allegations relate to the same post office where shamed sub postmaster Ian Kirk, 58, was found to have stolen more than £55,000. He was sentenced to 18 months in jail despite insisting that he had been burgled.
