THIEVES have stolen a two-week old lamb from a field on a Hampshire farm.
Police are appealing for information in a bid to reunite the distinctive black, brown and white Jacob Sheep lamb with its mother.
The owners of Warborne Farm in Lymington say three people were spotted in the field shortly before it went missing between Monday and Tuesday last week.
Police Constable Ian Hunt of Lymington police said the animal was worth around £60.
He said: "The lamb was too big to be taken by a fox and was still very attached to its mother so would not have wandered off on its own.
"The lamb has distinctive 'Dalmatian' markings and a white chest. I would appeal to anyone who may have information which could help us reunite the lamb with its mother to come forward."
Anyone who may have seen three people in the area acting suspiciously, or has any information should contact PC Hunt at Lymington police station on 0845 0454545 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
