BINGE drinking youths look set for a dose of parental guidance after police in a Hampshire town launched a new crime-busting initiative.
As part of a crackdown on antisocial behaviour in New Milton, police will take drunken young offenders back to their parents' homes.
They hope the tactic will shame underage drinkers - particularly in the Ashley area of the town - in to staying out of trouble.
Members of the New Forest Community Safety Partnership's joint action group heard that some youths were even drunk before they left home.
Chief Inspector Gary Cooper said patrols would be stepped up in the area on weekend evenings.
"We will be increasing the number of officers in the known trouble spots and young people will be apprehended and taken to their homes so their parents can be made fully aware of their behaviour," he said.
