A TEENAGER has appeared in court this morning following an alleged hit and run in which an 11-year-old boy died.
Theo Hixon-Denton was walking home after skateboarding with friends when he was hit by a car near to the recreation ground in Sholing on November 23 last year.
He suffered serious head injuries and died shortly after.
Jason Michael Tobola, 19, from Sholing, is charged with perverting the course of justice, failing to stop at the scene of an accident and report it and also driving without insurance.
Members of Theo's family were in the public gallery at Southampton Magistrates Court today when Tobola appeared and confirmed his name but did not enter a plea.
The case was adjourned to Southampton crown Court on June 13 for a plea and case management hearing and Tobola was granted unconditional bail.
