THREE Hampshire teenagers were remanded in custody yesterday after appearing in court in connection with the theft of a luxury car.

They were rescued from a two-door Bentley Continental when it left the road, hit a tree and burst into flames.

Three police cars were also seriously damaged in the incident, which happened during the early hours of Tuesday morning on the A35 towards Lyndhurst at Holmsley Hill.

The three teenagers - two 17-year-old girls, one from Bransgore and one from Holbury, and a 15-year-old boy from New Milton - were all led into the dock at Southampton Youth Court this afternoon by security staff.

The youngsters, who cannot be named for legal reasons, are all accused of entering as trespassers a detached house in Parsonage Barn Lane, Ringwood, and stealing a wallet, mobile phone, laptop and keys to a car valued at more than £70,000 that was taken from the driveway.

Two of the teenagers, the 17-year-old girl from Holbury and the 15-year-old boy, are both accused of aggravated vehicle taking with the girl also charged with driving without a driving licence.

The boy is also charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop and driving without a licence or insurance.

No pleas were entered during the hour long hearing and the trio were remanded in custody until Wednesday when they are next due to appear at Southampton Youth Court.
