The Tower Arts Centre went out with a bang in its grand season finale that was marked with a fireworks spectacular that celebrated the end of an era.
The Winchester arts venue, based off Romsey Road, will be officially run by Kings' School from Monday after Hampshire County Council relinquished responsibility for it.
Thursday's Tower farewell consisted of comedy from comedian Attila The Stock Broker, a full set from songwriter John Otway, a giant inflatable lady and a fireworks display.
Joanna Roberts, a former employee of The Tower, said: "It was emotional."
Winchester City Council will provide £25,000 per year toward funding an evening programme at The Tower.
A new programme will be launched in September.
