A QUAINT village inn in the heart of the Test Valley may be going for a song.

The White Lion, pictured, in Wherwell, was to be sold for £120,000 but at the last minute the potential buyers dropped out.

The current owners Adrian Stent and Pat Fairman, who took over the pub and eatery 22 years ago, are keen to sell the leasehold and have dropped the asking price of the freehold to £99,950.

The Winchester branch of Christie and Co which is dealing with the sale said the pub has become unexpectedly available and was up for grabs for a reduced price due to "personal reasons".
