SPRING has well and truly arrived in Southampton with the city becoming the warmest and sunniest place in the UK this week.
April has already seen the south battle a cold spell with a covering of snow, but on Tuesday Southampton was officially the warmest place in the UK with a top temperature of 20.7C (69F).
Southampton also had more than 11 hours of sunshine - more than anywhere else in the country.
Yesterday, the city enjoyed another spell in the sun with an average temperature of 18C (64F) but weather experts say colder weather will return tomorrow and Friday.
This weekend will see warmer weather return with sunny spells across the county.
