A HAMPSHIRE car park was sealed off after a vehicle was stolen in a robbery.
The car was taken from a private parking area behind houses in High Street, Totton, in the early hours of yesterday morning.
It was later found crashed a few miles away in Calmore Road, Totton.
Yesterday police sealed off the L-shaped car park, which is opposite the Elingfield House residential care home. At one point an officer guarding the scene was joined by a forensics expert.
Staff at the care home said they knew nothing about the incident.
A police spokesman said: "We are investigating a robbery allegation involving the theft of a vehicle that was later found crashed."
It is not known if any weapons were used in the robbery but the Daily Echo understands that no-one was hurt in either the robbery or the subsequent collision.
A woman working in a nearby shop said: "The police have been in but they didn't say what it was about."
