EIGHT people have been charged following a major investigation into an alleged organised car crime syndicate.
A seven month operation into the theft of motor vehicles, known as Operation Gregan, investigated thieves targeting cars, vans and motorcycles for sale in the Free-Ad newspapers or on eBay.
Ten people were arrested in the early hours of Tuesday. Seven people were later charged with conspiracy to steal motor vehicles and a further man charged with burglary and theft of motor vehicle.
The other two males arrested during the investigation have been bailed pending further enquiries.
The eight people charged will appear at Southampton Magistrates Court for a remand hearing today.
