POLICE are investigating an incident that happened in a "normally quiet" area of Thornhill.
Much of a residential street was behind a police cordon for most of the day on Sunday while officers investigated the scene.
Police cordoned off a section of Napier Street, a row of terraced houses before Gilpin Close.

Residents say they woke up to the police presence in the morning, but were confused about what it was.
Gilpin Close resident Alex McCormick, said that "something must have happened overnight".
"The cordon was there on Sunday morning," he told the Echo.
"There was a couple of police officers and a car. I don't know what happened but it must have happened overnight."
Napier Road resident Tom Anderson added: "There was a cordon here most of the day. I work nights so I didn't see anything."
Other residents spoke of police coming and knocking on doors to ask if anyone knew what had been going on the night before.
Clifford Pettman, who also lives on Napier Road, said that he first spotted the cordon at 8.30am.
He described "quite a few" police there, with the whole area cordoned off.
"That was the first I knew something had happened. I did not hear a thing.
"It's not really a concern. It's normally so quiet, but it is an estate."
Hampshire police have been asked for information.
