A COMPANY has announced a new environmental strategy in an effort to tackle climate change.
ActiveMe 360 deliver sports coaching and affordable active childcare across Hampshire and the South Coast.
The Eastleigh-based company strives to change lives by improving health and well-being using the power of physical activity, sports and education.
Taylor Haydon, from ActiveMe 360, told the Echo: "We passionately believe that leading an active and healthy lifestyle can support and improve everyone’s physical, mental and social wellbeing.
"Our team of dedicated sports coaches have made it their mission to inspire everyone we engage with, from students to teachers, through high quality, accessible and affordable Active programmes."
As a social enterprise, 65 per cent of the company's profit is reinvested back into local communities to encourage positive social change for children and their families.
As part of its commitment as a social enterprise, the business developed a green strategy this summer.
The scheme aims to reduce the firm's impact on the environment and make informed decisions that work to tackle the climate crisis.
Taylor explained the strategy: "In our multi-phase green strategy, we will be starting with offsetting our travel carbon footprint.
"Being a part of a service-led industry means our team travel far and wide to continue our mission.
"But it also means our travel carbon footprint will increase too."
To combat it, the team is now recording their mileage month and- every quarter they track their delivery-based mileage they will invest in the planting of trees and worldwide carbon reduction projects.
So far, they have planted over 1,000 trees and led funding across 4 major projects including renewable solar energy in Egypt, Peruvian protection of the Amazon and wind power projects in Mexico and Honduras.
It equals a carbon reduction of 8 tonnes.
