A GRANDMOTHER died from injuries sustained in a 5mph crash nearly eight years after the collision, an inquest heard.
Brenda Luckins, 66, from Gosport, has been remembered as an "amazing" mother and grandmother at the inquest into her death.
She suffered an acute brain injury after she was hit by a blue Citroen C3 in Cambridge Road home on March 18, 2014.
At the time she was taken to Southampton General Hospital and later moved to the neurological rehabilitation service at Peartree House care home in Southampton.
But at the start of this year, her condition deteriorated and she died at Southampton General on January 12, 2022.

In a statement read out at an inquest at Winchester Coroner's Court on Tuesday, Brenda’s family described her as “wonderful, kind and caring”.
“She was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. We gave her as much loved and care as we possibly could,” the family said.
They added on the day of the crash her husband Steve got home and panicked she was not in.
After calling everyone to try and track her down, the family discovered she had been involved in the crash and was at Southampton General.
They added that it was “very traumatic” - while paying tribute to the doctors and carers that helped her following the incident.
Area coroner Rosamund-Rhodes Kemp told the hearing Brenda developed complications after the crash including epilepsy, and problems with her heart and kidney.
On December 23, an ambulance was called to Peartree House after Brenda’s condition deteriorated and she was taken to hospital for tests.
It was hoped she would return to the care home having been given antibiotics for an infection.
But just days later her health worsened once again.
Mrs Rhodes-Kemp said: “Over the last year she had become frailer. She refused food and fluid.”
A post-mortem later found that the former learning support assistant's death was due to a combination of injuries involving her kidney, heart and head.
The coroner concluded that “all of Brenda’s problems were as a result of the (road traffic collision)”.
