THE family of a doting great-grandmother who died following a horrific collision with a lorry have paid tribute to her.
Audrey Boxall, 77, of Lawn Road, Eastleigh, was pronounced dead at the scene after being hit by a lorry travelling along Twyford Road, Eastleigh, last Wednesday lunchtime.
The pensioner suffered multiple injuries after being hit by the 18-tonne Mercedes lorry outside the Progressive Social Club.
Mrs Boxall, who was born in Surrey, moved to the borough in 1954 when she married John Boxall who died in January 2000.
The statement said: "Audrey, a mother of seven children, 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, lost her husband to cancer in January 2000 and doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
"Her family would like to thank all of the emergency services who attended the scene and those who continue to support them through this very difficult time.
"This wonderful woman will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her."
The 59-year-old lorry driver from Romsey was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving while unfit through drink or drugs.
