IT IS time to go walkies with your four-footed friends and raise thousands for Hampshire's unloved and neglected animals.
The Stubbington Ark is calling all dog owners and their canine companions to take the lead in this year's Wag Walk.
This will be the third annual sponsored dog walk, which will see hundreds of pooches enjoy a walk around either Southamp-ton, Stubbington, Hayling Island or Winchester on Sunday.
The pair who raise the most money will be awarded with the Wag Walk Shield, a complimentary meal for two and a doggy bag full of goodies.
Peter Lambert, from Sholing, said: "I adopted my dog Misty from the Ark several years ago. After Misty died, I moved into sheltered housing that does not allow pets.
"For the past two years I have borrowed my nephew's dog Bruno to take part in the Wag Walk and have raised £305."
Steve Baxter, an animal care assistant at the Ark, added: "The route is just under six and a half miles long and takes in some really great views."
The money raised will go towards the Ark Appeal which is aiming to raise money to replace its surgery with a new facility.
This new clinical unit would mean the centre could benefit from full operating facilities on site.
Sponsorship forms are available from the Stubbington Ark in Ranvilles Lane or call 01329 666916.
