Thousands of pounds are being ploughed into youth activities across Hampshire in the latest step to tackle antisocial behaviour and prevent crime.
The Hampshire Police Authority's crime prevention committee has granted a total of £21,000 to seven community initiatives in the county, each receiving £3,000.
Fareham and Gosport Challenge and Adventure and Life Experiences UK which is developing an angling and outdoor pursuits school at Broadlands Lake are two of the groups that will benefit.
Councillor Peter Kent Mason, chair of Hampshire Police Authority's crime prevention committee, said: "These initiatives not only provide youngsters with something worthwhile to do, it also builds their confidence and life skills."
