A POLICE officer has been punched in the face during a chase through a Hampshire town.
Officers gave chase during the incident near Fareham train station yesterday.
The force said it was pursuing a man who was wanted in connection with alleged domestic-related offences.
During the chase, an officer was punched in the face and a bag was also retrieved.

This is said to have contained an amount of suspected Class A drugs and cannabis.
Now a 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of multiple offences.
These are engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, sending a communication conveying an indecent/offensive message, possession of class B drugs with intent to supply, possession of class A drugs with intent to supply and common assault on emergency worker.
He remains in custody at this time.
A police presence could also be seen in the area around the fire station and Gordon Road.
