A DOZEN children from Southampton have played their part in the design of their new adventure playground.
The Southampton youngsters, pictured receiving their prizes, met Sheriff Councillor Brian Parnell after winning an adventure playground design contest.
The Thornhill playground is set to be built next year, being paid for by funding from South-ampton City Council's Big Lottery Fund.
Around 200 young people took part in the competition as part of the consultation process.
The winners received art and crafts prizes.
Southampton City Council has also distributed questionnaires to gather more information before the final plans are drawn up.
