MUSIC in the City is returning to Southampton for two days buzzing with melodies.

Kicking off today, thousands of performers will be coming together to play all sorts of music in 24 venues around Southampton.

With more than 160 acts, the event is expected to bring together the diversity of musical talent from the Solent area.

Audiences should expect a variety of genres with the starting times between 12.30 and 1 pm depending on the venue.

Various acts will take place on a stage at Guildhall Square and many of the city’s top pubs and live music spots will also host a variety of bands and artists.

Professional and amateur musicians will perform in hotspots including God’s House tower, King John’s palace, the garden within Tudor House and some of the city’s bars and breweries like Dancing man, London Road Brewhouse and platform Tavern.

The weekend will end with a performance from the City of Southampton Orchestra playing at the City art gallery at 1 pm followed by the Flautissimo Flute Orchestra at 2.15 pm.

The 1854 Venue will also host a number of artists at the Southampton Allstars 2022 Line-up.
