NEW cafes, restaurants, and eateries have been popping up all over Southampton.
Despite some sad summer closures brought on by the pandemic and the cost of living crisis, the dining scene in the city is flourishing.
The streets are evolving every day, and several new businesses have appeared over the past few months.
Here’s a roundup of some venues that have opened their doors to customers this year:
Bangerz 'n' Burgerz
Featuring artwork created by UK street artists, this restaurant is situated in the heart of the city centre.
While famous for its burgers, the shop also serves hotdogs, fries, beers and cocktails.
It is located next to Burger King on Above Bar Street and is open from noon until 10pm.

Blue Smokehouse
This American-style restaurant is known for its big platters of flow 'n' slow brisket, burgers and pulled pork.
While the restaurant specialises in meat dishes, it does provide food options for vegans.
Since opening in the spring of this year, this bbq restaurant has gained popularity amongst students.

The Cedar Rooms
Located at Royal Victoria Country Park, this new spot serves delicious hand-made pizza.
Expect to see handmade sourdough pizzas from a traditional-style pizza oven alongside ice-creams.
This eatery focuses on running the café in an environmentally friendly way. Customers will be served with compostable coffee cups and reusable pizza boxes to cut down on waste.

Whisky Blue
With laid-back live music, old-fashioned drinks and serving authentic Italian food.
The classic city bar is a destination for Saints fans and over-25s.
This hidden gem can be found outside the city centre on the corner of London Road and Ordnance Road.

Figurati!
This is a new and exciting restaurant in Ocean Village Marina that opened in the summer.
The owners promise to bring a new dining experience to the city that hasn’t been seen before.
The venue has an extensive and unique wine list of nearly 100 wines and has an outdoor seating area as well.

Quayside
Located in the centre of Woolston's Centenary Quay, this new restaurant and wine bar allows customers to sit close to the water.
The food here is incredibly diverse, with pizza, brunch, and Mediterranean tapas on the menu.

Miss Millie’s Fried Chicken
With chains across the UK, this restaurant opened in Above Bar Street last month.
Not spilling any secrets, the chain says the chicken is cooked in a "special coating" developed by the grandson of Colonel Sander, founder of KFC.
The venue is open every day from 11am until 1am.

Uni Kebab
This award-winning Southampton business has come a long way from a small takeaway.
The Turkish restaurant has also scooped up the ‘Best Value Restaurant’ title at the 2022 British Kebab Awards.
Situated away from the bustling city centre on Burgess Road, this family-run eatery serves freshly made and traditional foods.

Café Revive
Revive is a community cafe in Millbrook that tackles food inequality and social isolation.
It is a place that brings friends and families together for a cup of tea and cake.
The cafe is open on Mondays and Fridays from 9am to 4pm.
